Missouri Girls
Town’s focus on providing the best possible care for the abused and
neglected young women requires a trained and professional staff of
good-hearted people. Careful attention to each client's individualized
care requires the talents of many skilled and dedicated staff members,
including house parents, counselors, therapists, accountants, public
relations specialists and more.

House
Parents (HPs) provide the basic care for resident clients. HPs
are expected to be professional toward clients, coworkers, and
the outside community. On a daily basis, HPs interact, observe,
evaluate, intervene, and document group and individual behavior.
Overall, HPs provide correction, direction, and protection to
insure the safety and well-being of the residents. The
expectations and responsibilities of the House Parent are:
Be familiar with the philosophy, strategy and programs
of MGT. HP provides leadership to less senior staff, Group
Workers and clients as well as communicates the MGT mission
and purpose: our priority is helping and caring for the
girls.
Observe and evaluate the group and individuals, reports
issues and concerns to coworkers on duty, and documents in
log and client files. HP responsibility: communicate crisis
and concerns to other houses, counselors, on-call staff and
administration to insure problems are addressed promptly.
Utilize cottage treatment and level program to meet
client and group treatment needs. HP participates in the
development and implements individual treatment plans.
Delegate or may themselves transport clients to school,
visits, or medial appointments. MGT reimburses HPs for
obtaining a Class C license.
Conduct small group activities to structure and
supervise, and attends the house therapy group as a
co-therapist.
Perform duties with attention to confidentiality, child
abuse and neglect reporting, and agency restraint policy.
Be on time and dependable with regard to work schedule.
attend rounds, staff meetings, treatment planning,
supervision, and in service training programs
Provide a firm consistent, but warm and caring approach
to clients. HPs have a responsibility to set a tone in the
resident house that is secure, predictable, pleasant, fair,
and problem solving oriented.
Participate in a yearly evaluation of work habits and
performance.
